Workshops

Below are descriptions of some of Dr. Cuneo’s most popular workshops.  Other workshop topics can be designed based on the needs of your group.

Finding Work that Works for You When You’re Ready to Go Back to Work

Do you feel ready to return to work but aren’t quite sure which career is best suited for you right now at this stage of your life?  If you feel like what you did earlier in your career may no longer be the best fit for your life right now, this workshop will give you the tools to determine a rewarding career path and build a vision of your future that fits with your interests and values.

During this workshop, you will:

• Complete exercises that will give you clarity on your interests, skills, and values

• Learn about resources and tools for occupational research

• Explore how you can apply your skills and talents to meaningful work

Work-Life Fit for Parents Returning to Work

You value your role as a parent and may have worries about your family life once you return to work.  Don’t let fear, guilt, and the myth of 50/50 work-life balance hold you back.

During this workshop, you will learn how to make a back-to-work plan that considers:

  • What your kids need to be happy and successful
  • What your relationship needs to be mutually supportive
  • What your household needs to run (relatively!) smoothly
  • And most importantly, what YOU need

Strategies and resources to support a smooth transition will be discussed.

The 3 Keys to Empowered Parenting:  How to Raise Self-Confident and Compassionate Children

Parenting is one of the most rewarding, yet difficult, roles a person can have. It can be overwhelming to sort through the different, and sometimes conflicting, advice that comes our way. Empowering yourself as a parent empowers not only you but also your children. When parents can tune into their child’s experience, they form a foundation of connection from which they can discipline with love and effectiveness. Confident and effective parents can raise compassionate and successful children. This 90-minute workshop includes:

  •  activities and discussion to help you recognize your parenting style and identify your “buttons” before they get pushed
  •  discussion of general child development during the early childhood years as well as guidance in identifying your child’s individual strengths and weaknesses
  •  training in effective communication skills with children to reduce conflict and increase cooperation

How to Raise Healthy Eaters without Making Yourself or Your Kids Crazy

You may have dreamed of blissful gatherings around your family table, yet instead are now experiencing the challenges of picky eaters, complaining and whining about food, and the stress of trying to figure out how to feed a healthy and happy family. In this workshop, parents will learn effective strategies to calm the chaos at mealtimes and bring peace and connection to their family table.  This 90-minute workshop includes:

  •  Guidance on how to stop being a short order cook
  •  Strategies to help kids try new foods and eat vegetables
  •  Ways to have kids join the family at the table – and be pleasant once they get there
  •  Strategies for effective meal planning and time-saving techniques
  •  Tools for positive family communication

6 Steps to Effective, Loving Discipline with Toddlers and Preschoolers

  •  the optimal mindset for parents to effectively communicate with their young children
  •  how to give effective warnings and commands to young children
  •  how to better understand your child’s behavior
  •  how to promote positive behaviors
  •  how to handle aggression in young children

How to Raise Happy Kids Who Care About Each Other

Raising one child is challenging enough. Adding another child to your family presents a whole new set of challenges.  In this workshop you will learn:

  •  how to prepare your child for a new sibling
  •  how you, as a parent, can promote positive sibling relationships
  •  some concrete strategies for managing sibling rivalry and conflict
  •  strategies for enhancing individual parent-child relationships when you have more than one child
